Sometimes you can get something that is called a macule on your lip or a varicosity. A macule tends to be more brownish in color and a varicosity tends to be more purplish in color. Neither one is of great concern. You do want to have someone look at it, just to make sure. You should keep an eye on it to ensure that it doesn't grow in size or begin to have irregular borders. If it is one of these two conditions, then you should either have your Physician or Dentist continue to monitor it!Is it normal for a freckle to appear or darken on the lips?
Yep. I have a freckle on my lips that started out very light, but as it has gotten more and more sun exposure, it's darkened. You shouldn't worry unless it begins growing/spreading or becoming textured. If it bothers you, wear a lip gloss, lipstick or chapstick with SPF in it and that should take care of the problem.Is it normal for a freckle to appear or darken on the lips?
Talk to your doctor, particularly if it has changed colour or size.
