The corners of my lips are swelling up and red, help?!?
All day, the corners of my lips have been kind of swollen, and like there are small bumps there. they're itchy and it's really uncomfortable. I get this sometimes as an allergic reaction to kiwis and peanut butter, but i've not eaten or been near any of that. it's weird, what could it be and how can i get it to go away1?!!?!?!The corners of my lips are swelling up and red, help?!?

Why on earth would you want to make your lips look small. Look at Angelina Jolie, she has big lips and she has a very nice mouth. You be proud of your lips , just think about it when you are old your won't have a mouth like a chickens bum. Show them off don't try to hide them, most woman have botox to have their lips look larger. Just be proud of them:)

But, on the smoking thing... it all depends on the person I guess. Depends how light you smoke. Personally, I smoke maybe a pack a month. Then I take long breaks in between months. I've been smoking for about a year... last time I was at the dentist, my teeth were perfectly healthy. You don't see as much lip discoloration with smokers as teeth discoloration - so perhaps use an overnight teeth whitening gel (get a reccomendation from your dentist to make sure it won't murder the enamel on your teeth.) But everyone else is right - that's the least of your problems with smoking.

But, on the smoking thing... it all depends on the person I guess. Depends how light you smoke. Personally, I smoke maybe a pack a month. Then I take long breaks in between months. I've been smoking for about a year... last time I was at the dentist, my teeth were perfectly healthy. You don't see as much lip discoloration with smokers as teeth discoloration - so perhaps use an overnight teeth whitening gel (get a reccomendation from your dentist to make sure it won't murder the enamel on your teeth.) But everyone else is right - that's the least of your problems with smoking.

I don't think you have to worry too much. Your director will tell you if he notices anything truly unusual. Some kids, particularly little girls, discolor more easily than others. It's just a physiological thing. As her embouchure develops much of that discoloration will disappear. Ask her if she feels like she has to push hard on her mouthpiece when she plays. She could be pressing a little too hard. Have her practice buzzing on just her mouthpiece. Check to see if she is mashing it on her face. Just tell her to relax and try for a steady buzz rather than loud or high.

I studied Emory Remington methodology %26amp; the idea of buzzing without the mouthpiece is crucial. if she does not turn colors without the mouthpiece - but does turn colors when the mouthpiece or horn are engaged, then problem solved.

Make sure you use it at night as this way you won't ';eat'; it all off. Use the medicated one during the day too, as it might help to stop the chewing of your lips.

Well first stop biting them, vitamin E oil can help, I would also reccomend pretroleum jelly. I do the same thing. Softlips is good once your lips are healed, I looooove it! Always make sure you use chapstick that has spf 15 in it!
I have the same problem in winter, I lick and bite my lips and they crack, sometimes deeply. The vitamin E will help if applied topically. A product called ';Burt's Bees'; puts out a very nice lip balm with bees wax and royal jelly. It's like a chapstick and worked very well for me.
For ladies they even have a lipstick that is all natural that you can use and it also does a great job on chapping.

I am currently using Blonde Ambition. The lipstick also has a center core that helps plump and moisturize your lips. It works really great and I would be devastated if they discontinued it. I would give Blonde Ambition a try, it goes pretty well with any skin tone because it has the ';nude'; color. Lip Service goes on matte-it has no color or tint. It's super hard though-I find it works best if you let it hang out in your pocket and warm up before you use it, otherwise it's so hard you can't get it out of the tin.

Can anyone suggest a way to keep my lips for a long time?
i fade my lips using foundation because they are a really bright shade of pink but it wears off really quickly. A woman at mac said there is nothing i can do which i doubt. I have had it done before by my friend who moved away, but it was actually on my lip and the labret body rings are made for under the lip piercings.
So well are there any shops you know of that i can do without a parents permission? Is it the law in texas to have it or what? My dad doesnt know about the first one but hey i mean he is completely against piercings he made me wait til i was 13 before i got my ears done, but still i mean im 16 and i feel old enough to make my decisions.Is there a piercing shop that will pierce lips without a parents permission? While I agree with you that it is reasonable ofr a 16 year old to decide to get a piercing unfortunitally the law says otherwise.

Any place that would openly piercing you under age in the US is breaking the law
if they are breaking that law there's the worry that maybe they are breaking others, like ones that pertain you your health. It would be horrible to get a disease (Like hepititus and aids) from unclean tools.
There are ways of getting around it though. In some places the place where the id check is seperate from where the piercing is done. If you have a friend who is over 18 and go to a busy enough place it possible you could switch places so you get the piercing instead of your friend.
I know a lot of people who have done that

What the best product for really chapped lips!!?
what are some good, lipglosses, chapsticks, lipbutters that will really condition my lips? howe much do they cost? plz dont say drink more water b/c i usally already drink 7 or 8 bottols of water already

Ok.. First let me clear up for you something that I recently learned. Chapstick brand lip balm actually makes your lips drier overtime, so don't use that. What I do when I get extremely chapped lips is, massage unscented lotion on them for like 10 minutes. It makes a huge difference, trust me. It will get all of the peeling skin off. After you do that, use Carmex every day. Carmex smells and tastes nasty but it works very well.
I find Vaseline, Softlips and the Blistex that are the original/standard green, burgundy and blue sticks (the medical ones (blue %26amp; white) work awesomely!) just sit on my lips and make them peely and don't penetrate. They make my lips feel worse, it's just like wax sitting on top of them. The best is Burts Bees! And, if you can find them anymore, Cool Aqua. They stopped selling them around where I live, but if you ever see one..GRAB IT.
Burt's Bees. There is no better product and there will be no better product. I have tried every balm on the market, pretty much, and this remains the only lip balm my lips haven't become immune to. Every swipe sends peppermint tingles through my lips! LOL
i use palmers coca butter stick. it's VERY moisturizing and the stick is HUGE. you can get it at drug stores for less than $4
There are a lot of good chapsticks but Vaseline is the best that works for me. I keep a small jar on my nightstand. Also I use a old Carmex jar and keep Vaseline in it. I've also used baby oil.
Vaseline! it is extremely good put it on before u sleep or put a small bit on then put some coloured lip gloss on over it!! also, it looks like sheer gloss anyway!

Ok.. First let me clear up for you something that I recently learned. Chapstick brand lip balm actually makes your lips drier overtime, so don't use that. What I do when I get extremely chapped lips is, massage unscented lotion on them for like 10 minutes. It makes a huge difference, trust me. It will get all of the peeling skin off. After you do that, use Carmex every day. Carmex smells and tastes nasty but it works very well.
I find Vaseline, Softlips and the Blistex that are the original/standard green, burgundy and blue sticks (the medical ones (blue %26amp; white) work awesomely!) just sit on my lips and make them peely and don't penetrate. They make my lips feel worse, it's just like wax sitting on top of them. The best is Burts Bees! And, if you can find them anymore, Cool Aqua. They stopped selling them around where I live, but if you ever see one..GRAB IT.
Burt's Bees. There is no better product and there will be no better product. I have tried every balm on the market, pretty much, and this remains the only lip balm my lips haven't become immune to. Every swipe sends peppermint tingles through my lips! LOL
i use palmers coca butter stick. it's VERY moisturizing and the stick is HUGE. you can get it at drug stores for less than $4
There are a lot of good chapsticks but Vaseline is the best that works for me. I keep a small jar on my nightstand. Also I use a old Carmex jar and keep Vaseline in it. I've also used baby oil.
Vaseline! it is extremely good put it on before u sleep or put a small bit on then put some coloured lip gloss on over it!! also, it looks like sheer gloss anyway!

I bought a box of sally hansen express wax, I don't have a problem with my pubic hair but when I shave I can't seem to get the hair on the lips. I am scared I might pull one off, is that possible? I don't have access to a professional right now, so that is not an option.

I'm not a guy, put ive noticed that men like women that are clean cut, and glossy lips are appealing. But i don't think they really notice very much, and it should be suddel (at least if you want to attract a GOOD man, not a ****, neither should the women be) but the man should really look for the inside quality of a women, not the outside. We as women, should present a modest, not tempting, clean, beautiful on the inside look to men.
Lipstick bothers me much less than other aspects of makeup. So if you compare it to other makeup, it is a yes. However there is no sight I enjoy more than natural beauty. And when I say natural beauty, I don't mean the ridiculous concept of ';naturally beautiful'; but rather the thing that everyone has.
Lipstick isn't a turnoff unlike other makeup, but it is still something too observable and thus distracting.

I'm not a guy, put ive noticed that men like women that are clean cut, and glossy lips are appealing. But i don't think they really notice very much, and it should be suddel (at least if you want to attract a GOOD man, not a ****, neither should the women be) but the man should really look for the inside quality of a women, not the outside. We as women, should present a modest, not tempting, clean, beautiful on the inside look to men.
Lipstick bothers me much less than other aspects of makeup. So if you compare it to other makeup, it is a yes. However there is no sight I enjoy more than natural beauty. And when I say natural beauty, I don't mean the ridiculous concept of ';naturally beautiful'; but rather the thing that everyone has.
Lipstick isn't a turnoff unlike other makeup, but it is still something too observable and thus distracting.
I don't like lip stick, lip gloss, make-up or any of that stuff. That doesn't mean that I haven't been very attracted to certain women wearing it. I hope the color they choose, if they do choose to use lip stick, is a lip tone.
As you can see the other responses, different kind of men, like different kind of things. There is no straight forward a answer. You would probably have to hang out with him to see if he likes it or not. Try it, there isn't much to lose.

I believe the kind I've got is Sally Hansen Lip Inflation (I'm sure about the lip inflation part, the rest has worn off the tube).
When you're looking for a good lip plumper, you need to be reading the ingredients. Plumpers with cinnamon, peppermint, and other things of that sort are what stimulate the blood flow to the tissue of your lips and makes them appear fuller/a richer color.
They work best when your lips are clean and dry (don't apply after you put on chapstick it won't work).
None of the lip plumping glosses/lipsticks are a permanent fix. They just have chemicals/ingredients that stimulate the circulation to your lips. Some last an hour, better ones last a few hours.
Anything short of collagen injections....you're stuck with what you've got!!
Other tips for making your lips appear bigger than they are:
-Use light colors of gloss. Gloss doesn't leaving a definete outline, meaning that were the gloss stops and your skin starts isn't as noticeable of a difference as it would be with dark colors and lipsticks. hives,swelling of lips and face(angioedema),rhinitis(runny nose),wheezing can all be signs of allergic reactions..
What you have to know is that this could be caused by just anything..
althouGh most of the time the new thing a that came to life are the culprits, sometimes you just develop it after one exposure..
here, in the first exposure, nothing will happen..

The lips swelling are a hive too. Lipstick or chapstick maybe?
I had hives for over 5 years and had them controlled with medication and after I found out I had celiac disease and quit eating gluten products(wheat, rye or barley), the hives stopped and I have been medication free for over 5 years now. You can get tested for celiac disease with a blood test possibly followed by an endoscopy. Don't stop eating gluten products until the tests are done. If the tests are negative, try going gluten free for a month or two and see if the hives stop.
Benadryl will usually stop the hives from itching and help the swelling too. An allergist can work with you to find a medicine or medication combo to control the hives.

Congaulations, you have just experienced an allergic reation! In all seriousness though, I know you said you haven't been taking NEW medicine or eaten anything NEW. It's a common misconception that if we are highly allergic to something, we react to it the first time we encounter it. In reality, we don't have the reaction AT LEAST until the second time we enounter it. This is because the first time the body encounters it, even though it's considered a foreign substance, it has nothing to attack it with. By the sencond exposure, the body has usually made antibodies, and therefore the reaction can occur. Sometimes it takes multiple exposures. You should go see an allergist. They will be able to diagnose what you allergic to (usually, thoguh sometimes even they can't figure it out), and they can provide the appropriate treatment in case it should ever happen again.

What you have to know is that this could be caused by just anything..
althouGh most of the time the new thing a that came to life are the culprits, sometimes you just develop it after one exposure..
here, in the first exposure, nothing will happen..
but here the antibodies which are produced towArds these allergens(allergen is the substance towards which antibodies are produced by the body in an abnormal way) are sitting on the mast cells..
on the nest exposure, the antibody crosslinking occurs, making an allergic reaction..
actually the mast cells in the body release preformed as well as newly synthesized substances which are responsible for the allergic reactions.
here are some things you should looks out for-
cold weather/cold food
new food
new makeup
something you use as an air freshner
fur of a pet
dust
the key is that the allergen may enter through any protal such as the nose, mouth etc..
sometimes it is very hard to find the new thing which has entered your life..because it is very hard to identify.. but if you think carefully, you may be able to identify it..
but often, people may not be able to find it out..

The lips swelling are a hive too. Lipstick or chapstick maybe?
I had hives for over 5 years and had them controlled with medication and after I found out I had celiac disease and quit eating gluten products(wheat, rye or barley), the hives stopped and I have been medication free for over 5 years now. You can get tested for celiac disease with a blood test possibly followed by an endoscopy. Don't stop eating gluten products until the tests are done. If the tests are negative, try going gluten free for a month or two and see if the hives stop.
Benadryl will usually stop the hives from itching and help the swelling too. An allergist can work with you to find a medicine or medication combo to control the hives.

Congaulations, you have just experienced an allergic reation! In all seriousness though, I know you said you haven't been taking NEW medicine or eaten anything NEW. It's a common misconception that if we are highly allergic to something, we react to it the first time we encounter it. In reality, we don't have the reaction AT LEAST until the second time we enounter it. This is because the first time the body encounters it, even though it's considered a foreign substance, it has nothing to attack it with. By the sencond exposure, the body has usually made antibodies, and therefore the reaction can occur. Sometimes it takes multiple exposures. There are a lot of home remedy's but the best thing will be to get threaded. I live in Memphis and there is a Indian shop here and all they do all day is thread hair off of peoples faces. They are very affordable (cheaper than going to the day spa and they are clean too). I am very hairy. They threaded my eyebrows, my entire face and neck for 25.00 and of course I gave a tip. I know you can get the eye brows threaded for 7.00. So this is as cheap as going to the store and buying any hair removing product yourself. Look in your area for shops that do threading. i have a tiny epilator just for the lip area and it does a great job. You must do it at night or you will have a red mark all over the top lip and you dont want people to see you like that!!!!

If she had experienced discomfort, you know your girl and you know she probably would have either meow or twitched - something to let you know she wasn't comfortable. I highly doubt that she was uncomfortable.
I commend you for being with your girl as she passed. She gave you many years and you were able to give her that final companionship as she passed. I am sure your presence comforted her. She most likely would have done something to really show you she was not comfortable if she wasn't. At least she's happy now and without any pain whatsoever.
