Same reason a guy worries about the size of his penis. It's a private intimate part of our body that is not always exposed. Plus our whole life we are thought to be ashamed of our genitals. When you're little you get yelled at for saying penis, Religion tells us that all sex is evil and a sin. You get in trouble (if you get caught) for masturbation. (This totally depends on the parents, but holds true for the norm of society). It's normal to be self-cautious. That's why it is important that you feel comfortable with you partner, if you don't than a whole list of problems can occur.

I don't care about the shape of my vaginal lips. I have never had a complaint about thems so I guess they are nice.
Contrary to popular beleif, we've seen porn. And all the porno stars seem to be selected because their lips look a certain way. I think a lot of us think that guys will think that ours are ugly because they are different.
