On my first date with someone, we kissed gently, then kind of got into it a bit. Kiss gently and almost shyly on the lips, leave some for the second, though, don't give it your all =]

I think it all depends on the vibe between you two. You can usually tell if she wants to kiss you or not. Check to see if she's biting her lip or drawing other attention there. I don't mind kissing on the first date if it feels right. Do what you think you should!

personally, i'd prefer him to surprise me with a kiss on the lips, and during a date it probably wouldnt be a surprise, unless the moment is romantic enough. and ur gf might not be comfortable enough on the first date
